On the planet of Arath, warriors wishing to leave their feudal lords can do so, but must prove their courage and skill first.

Rathchuta, one of Arath’s moons, serves as a testing ground for this purpose. An Arathian who wants to leave their lord must travel to Rathchuta and survive the "Rites of Rath", a test of skill and endurance to earn the right to leave the system. If the candidate lives, he or she is free to come and go as they please. These rites apply only to the Arathian warrior caste born on Arath.
